storytelling
Everyone loves a well-told story.
Oral storytelling is one of the most ancient art-forms and has a long and honourable history. Stories have been passed on by word of mouth since long before reading and writing became commonplace. In the past these stories communicated news, taught moral principles and tribal law, and tried to explain the origins of Life, the Universe, and Everything. Nowadays, listening to a story can provide a welcome respite from electronic media, a chance to become truly immersed in and engaged with a narrative.

schools
If you have a class or whole school topic, the story or stories can be appropriately tailored and the resulting artworks make a vibrant and stimulating display. The sessions encourage close listening, provoke a natural desire in children to tell their own stories, and provide endless starting points for future literacy and art lesson plans.Alongside the storytelling, Wendy can offer associated workshops introducing children to the art of Illustration, Book Arts (including book sculptures) or simple Book-binding.
